Abstract:
    UAVs have not been previously optimally used for sensor specification in terms of their types and possible installation sites for achieving Precision Agriculture.
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
    It is crucial that farmers are promptly aware of spatial variations in their fields so as to optimize farm input for increased crop yield. Pakistan's agricultural losses sum up to Rs. 55 Billions in the agriculture sector per year which can be countered by revolutionizing the agricultural processes.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
   With our project, we expect to target and fulfill the needs of the 62% of Pakistan's population which is directly or indirectly associated with agriculture, agricultural cooperatives and farming businesses abroad and in Pakistan. Our prime focus is to benefit the local farmer in the long run.
How will the solution works
    Our solution employs the deployment of a drone to perform aerial survey of the field area. We will have the sensors placed in a suitable topology in the form of a wireless sensor network which will collect and transmit data to our server via 4G. With the data collected, we will produce maps. By developing algorithms to analyze the data for plant growth patterns, we will use MCDA to determine best site locations for sensor deployment and optimized sensor specifications to predict entity states.
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
    At the moment, we have no competitors. Precision agriculture is being practiced on a global level, however, optimization of sensor specification has not been explored not just in Pakistan but the entire world.
