Abstract:
    An innovative, application based design for a four legged robot, that will be able to stably traverse across any landscape.
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
    The need is being met, but at the cost of expensive human lives. The nature of work, in dirty, hazardous environments, demands a solution that doesn't necessarily include the worker coming back. Here, the life of a robot, is cheap, expendable, in the face of a human life.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
   The initial target audience includes the construction industry, surveillance, search and rescue in disaster hit regions, mining exploration and the military. On a larger scale, the design will be expanded to a consumer based clientele where potential benefactors could exceed the million mark.
How will the solution works
    The design of the robot has twelve degrees of freedom and will be using kinematics analysis to achieve locomotion through electric actuation. The robot will use a gait algorithm that will set the robot’s pace by adapting to the landscape. A stability algorithm will be formulated through which the robot will be able to stabilize itself in different terrains and conditions. The robot will be controlled remotely/autonomously and will have a fully functional communications system.
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
    There are no apparent competitors in the local market. Globally, companies like Boston Dynamics, Ghost Robotics and a few others exist. Our solution is different because it is based on the customers' requirements with the design being modular enough to be molded into any application based interface.
