Abstract:
Our idea aims to provides an insight about the challenges faced by the construction industry of Pakistan in adopting unmanned aerial system (UAS) and how these challenges can be addressed.
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
The construction industry of Pakistan 2.5-10 times more labor intensive than the developed world. This results in poor safety management with a reactive approach. Hazards are addressed only after they have occurred. Adoption of UAS has the potential to make construction sites safer and efficient
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
Studies have shown that UAS has the capabililty to improve the efficiency of a consturction project in terms of time and cost. The adoption of UAS will not only help the clients and the contractors but will also help in improving the well being and any other bystanders at the construction sites
How will the solution works
We are currently working towards identifying the inhibitors to the adoption of Unmanned Aerial Systems in the construction industry. By isolating the key factors and forming remedial measure to address these inhibitors can make it easier for our industry to use Unmanned Aerial Systems for safety of workers at construction sites.
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
The competitors in this field are many, but without a proper framework on how this technology is to be adopted we see that the industry is not readily accepting this new technology. Our solution intends to address the root causes that hinder the acceptance of technology.
