Abstract:
    The project basically revolves around the concept of Visible Light Communication (VLC) which is a subset of optical wireless communication.
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
    Normally radio frequencies are used to transmit data, the bandwidth of radio frequencies is much lesser than the bandwidth of visible light hence we can achieve much higher data rate in this case.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
   LASER communication can be implemented in hospitals, institutions, offices, software houses etc, for high speed data communication without interference and security issues. This can also be used for keeping confidentiality in military and governmental departments.
How will the solution works
    Visible light communication includes a transmitter, channel, and a receiver. The channel is any visible light source e.g. LEDs, LASERS etc, between wavelength of 375-780 nm in the electromagnetic spectrum. Data is basically transmitted and received in the form of bits and these bits are then converted in to common language. This language conversion is done through a GUI software which will display the results and transmit encrypted data. Low power 5mW LASER having short range will be used.
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
    The RF communication suffers from interference and high latency issues, VLC has its property of immunity to interference from electromagnetic spectrum due to the use of visible light spectrum. As RF waves easily penetrate through walls so they have security issues, VLC comes with no security issues.
