Abstract:
    The project aims to design and fabricate a device that converts DC Voltage coming from a solar panel to three phase AC voltage for industrial applications like driving three phase induction motor.
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
    More than 90% of our industry uses Induction motors. Pakistan with 8 to 9 hours of sunshine per day has ideal climatic conditions for solar power generation.Pakistan will soon be a severe victim of climate change due to which hydro power generation will be minimum.So alternate sources are essential.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
   Induction Motors accounts for more than 50% of all energy consumption in the industry. Used by all kinds of large and small scale industry/machinery. Tube wells in Agriculture Sector. Electric cars also use induction motors.
How will the solution works
    Its is a 3 phase Pulse Width Modulated DC-AC inverter designed to drive induction motor. Its converts 12-24 volts coming from a Solar panel to 220V 3 phase AC to directly drive induction motors without the need of storing it in battery. It uses Space Vector Pulse width modulation to get required 3 phase AC and incorporates Voltage and Frequency control through a single Microcontroller based design.It also uses Maximum Power Point Tracking algorithm to extract maximum power from solar panel
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
    Current solutions use Sine Pulse Width Modulation with just 78% energy conversion efficiency.Our design uses a much more advanced algorithm of Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation which has upto 90.6% of efficiency and provides robust motor control as well as maximum utilization of solar power module
