Abstract:
    We aim to design a small headset that will help the patients of epilepsy to control the seizures by balancing the electric charges in the brain
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
    Epilepsy is a serious disease that causes seizures and is treated by medication and brain pacemakers. Brain pacemakers are invasive and require surgery that itself is so sensitive and requires money and expertise. This cost-effective wearable device will be used by the patients only during seizures.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
   Throughout the entire globe at least 50 million people suffer from epilepsy and round about 85% of these are the residents of developing countries. Itis estimated that 10% of the world’s population who live a normal lifespan can expect to have at least one epileptic seizure.
How will the solution works
    It will be a small headset that will detect electrical signals from the brain by using EEG electrodes and after processing will apply a controlled electric field to maintain the abnormal electrical signals to a normal specified range. The user can also adjust the field according to the severity of the seizures.
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
    Pharmaceutical companies and companies manufacturing brain pacemakers are potential competitors. This easy to use, cost effective, portable, non-invasive device will be used only during seizures and it requires no surgery.
