Abstract:
    The project proposes a method of music or sound composition from different characteristics of the brain voltage signals, that give information about the mental state, targeting epilepsy in our case.
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
    Epilepsy is the 4th most common neurological problem. 1 out of 4 children in USA suffer absence seizures which can only be detected with EEG signals, neither from breathing rate nor from heart beat. Thus there is a serve need of a mechanism which can translate complex brain organ for layman.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
   People suffering from epilepsy , those lives which can be saved upon early detection of seizure.Hospitals will be using it to check patients which will provide them more thorough and precise analysis . Our device is analogous to stethoscope but this time we will be hearing brain.
How will the solution works
    Our solution requires signal processing which involves filters to remove any unwanted peaks. After that the algorithm divides the signal into windows from which meaningful parameters i.e. Maxima,Voltage difference and Time difference are extracted. This algorithm ensures that any distinct activity in brain is captured with these acquired parameters. For music synthesis the parameters are mapped on music tones which results in rhythmic variations in music as variations occurs on parameters.
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
    Currently there is no competitor in the market because this technique has not been implemented practically into a device. We are putting a research work in practical form which makes our solution unique and different. This is cost efficient solution which finds its usage in multiple fields.
