Abstract:
    A smartphone based clinical decision support system for cardiac sound classification which can be deployed in rural areas to bridge the gap between patients and doctors.
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
    Cardiovascular disease is the leading global cause of death, approx 17.3 million per year. The proposed system will record and store PCG information of the patients and share the complete patient data with the cardiologist in main urban centers.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
   Annually, 200,000 in Pakistan and 17.3 million people worldwide face cardiac issues. The system aims to bridge the gap between the rural areas and the urban health centers for proper diagnosis and consultation.
How will the solution works
    The proposed system will record and store PCG information of the patients and share the complete patient data with the cardiologist. The system will classify the heart sounds in normal and abnormal sounds. Localization and classification of heart signals include segmenting the signal into S1, S2, and abnormal sounds such as murmurs etc. The heart signals are acquired using a digital stethoscope and are easy to record.
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
    There are smart steths available in international market but none of them provides clinical decision support system with respect to cardiac problems.
