Abstract:
    We are developing a 7 DOF anthropomorphic robotic arm that can be used to assist doctors in the field of surgery as well as be of help in the industry in doing cumbersome and repeatable tasks.
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
    A lot of hospitals in Pakistan are not equipped with state of the art robotic machinery.This in turns provides difficulties in complex surgical operations.Robotic or robot-assisted surgery, allows doctors to perform many types of complex procedures with more precision, flexibility and control.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
   1.Doctors in the field of surgery when dealing with complex and intricate surgical operations. 2.Industries(specifically automation) in which moving and assemblage of parts is required and also in environments where the risk of operations of humans is high.
How will the solution works
    1.We are using stepper motors because they always operate close to their maximum torque and are highly reliable.The arm has an approximately spherical shoulder and an approximately spherical wrist,connected by an elbow. 2.Its inverse kinematics and its workspace will be found out in MATLAB. 3.It will be 3-D modelled in SolidWorks. 4.Design and Structural Analysis will be carried out in ANSYS 5.Controls of the stepper motors will be achieved with the help of arduino microcontrollers and L293D ICs
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
    Presently,in Pakistan there is nobody that is making robotic manipulators on a commercial scale.We have taken the initiative to build a versatile and reliable robotic arm that can bring significant changes in surgical and industrial methods.
