Abstract:
    It is an industry based high end control automation project. Its aim is to provide an efficient and cost effective solution for packaging of soaps at the end of line by the introduction of automation.
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
    Currently the end of line stacking, at the P&G soap plant, is carried out manually at 60% of its total production potential with an annual running cost of 800,000 PKR, our project will increase its efficiency by 30% with a one time investment of 300,000 PKR.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
   Though its designed to cater a specific task, automation is the need of time. The design presents a number of methods that can be implemented in automating the end of line in any industry. Currently our project is designed for P&G who is one the largest consumer good producers around the globe.
How will the solution works
    A laser sensor on the conveyor is used as counter, once it reaches the specified count i.e. 4 soaps a pneumatic pusher, pushes the layer of 4 soaps into the box, kept perpendicular to conveyor. The weight sensor will detect this change in weight, of box, and with each layer will lower down each step by pneumatic. Once the box is filled an angular motion will shift from the platform. The entire mechanism is controlled by a PLC device.
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
    Companies that provide automated solutions can be considered as our competitors, however as the packaging system is completely custom made and unique in its idea of execution it is very different from solutions provided by any other competitor.
