Abstract:
    Research has shown the benefits of using robotic devices to aid in stroke patient rehabilitation.This project seeks to find a solution by creating a portable rehabilitative hand exoskeleton.
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
    Every year in Pakistan around 350,000 new cases of stroke patients appear and regular rehabilitative devices are cumbersome and are being operated in laboratory by trained individuals.This project seeks to remedy this problem by creating an inexpensive, portable and lightweight robotic hand.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
   With the help of robotic exoskeleton hand the physiotherapist can provide the treatment to multiple patients at the same time and patients can get better and faster recovery.
How will the solution works
    Exercises that focus on the affected parts of the body and reinforce analytical reasoning are the most effective methods to support the regrowth of neurological pathways in the brain. The hand exo-skeleton will assist with ambulation which will aid the recovery process by providing earlier mobility and restored independence for stroke survivors. The exoskeleton comprises of a glove embedded with pneumatic actuators for rehabilitative movements of the hand.
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
    Pakistan does not, as of yet, deploy a similar solution to the said problem. Exo-skeletons are being introduced globally, however. Our device employs soft actuators which makes the device very light, which makes it use very easy.
