Abstract:
    Aquaponics is an agricultural technique that combines aquaculture -left- and hydroponics -right. Aquaculture, in short is fish farming. Aquaponics is soilless farming where the medium for plant growth is water. The proposed prototype will implement this technique using a scalable design, ranging from industrial to private use. This design considers low land and high demand, portability and user friendliness. Furthermore the power requirements of the system will be fulfilled through use of solar energy, and making it an eco-friendly system.
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
    The decreasing water levels in dams, deforestation, excessive used of pesticides and high levels of CO2 are a dire problems faced by Pakistan today. Excess wastage of water in conventional farms and urbanization which has caused farms to be located far from cities and few issues we can help with.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
   The proposed system can benefit a number of institutes and local businesses. These audience segments include local stores who sell organic food, farmers who have limited land and industries who want to overcome problems of water and land shortage. Institutes like ICT Agricultural Institute etc.
How will the solution works

    The closest existing solution is Traditional farming system is highly dependent on water supply and land area for cultivation in addition increase in use of pesticides for traditional soil farming results in unhealthy production of crops.
