Abstract:
    This project aims to give custom options to industry falling in a grey area between manufacturing and 3D printing, providing an effective solution for making of prototypes by cutting edge techniques.
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
    Many designers and companies use prototypes and models for the purpose of product and functionality testing of new designs. 3D Rapid prototyping advancements allow for faster and lower cost prototypes. The data collected from these tests can be used to change the prototype models and improve design.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
   Our product is targeted at industries making aircraft design. Airplane modelers and industrial Conceptual designers require machines which can produce foam cut models instantly for research and development. The application of this project in Conceptual designing is extensively vast.
How will the solution works
    Our product is aimed to develop machinery capable of cutting three-dimensional shapes and figurines used in the development of models, optimization of numeric controls and optimization of path planning algorithms to achieve accurate outputs. The machinery uses four motors connected to a hot wire to cut the foam. A tension bearing mechanism is applied to keep the wire taut. The motors are controlled using Mach3. Rapidly-exploring random tree connect algorithm will be the basis of path planning.
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
    D printing is our main competitor but 3D printing is slow and much unqualified in large scale dynamic airplane model building because it is incapable of using the desired materials. CNC can work on any desired soft material giving the accurate shapes desired for aircraft modeling.
