Abstract:
    Our product provides real time and intelligent non-intrusive appliance load monitoring, using machine learning and cutting-edge analytics, helping to reduce electricity wastage.
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
    Pakistan has been in the grips of a power crisis, despite of which 25% of electricity supplied to homes is wasted by inefficient appliances. This can be reduced by providing users with appliance-level power consumption data, allowing them to save energy, and on wider scale help reduce load-shedding.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
   The product is aimed towards end-users and could serve individual households as well as offices. It can benefit hundreds of thousands of households in Pakistan, by helping them understand energy usage patterns and thereby allowing them to save energy, with benefits on a macro-scale.
How will the solution works
    The solution works non-intrusively, collecting current and voltage data from the main electrical panel through easily-available sensors. The data is then used to extract and create a feature set. Machine learning and pattern recognition is then utilized to identify and categorize appliances based on their unique signature pattern. The data will help develop household energy consumption patterns and thereby save electricity.
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
    Most competitors provide intrusive products that have to be installed within the house and can only provide data for one appliance per device, while smart appliances have not been able to capture the market that well. Our solution is non-intrusive in nature and can serve all appliances in a house.
