Abstract:
EPatwari is a blockchain-based secure, immutable, and decentralized storage of land registry papers. It prevents double selling and mortgage, false land ownership claims, and the loss of records.
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
7,882 federal government housing units, worth trillions of rupees, are illegally occupied in Karachi, alone. EPatwari addresses hundreds of thousands of cases of double selling and mortgage, illegal alteration and loss of official papers, and false claims of land ownership noticed around the world.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
Citizens, banks, organizations, and government of every country need a reliable way of keeping track of land ownership. EPatwari can help governments and banks to easily verify land ownership and prevent double mortgage. Moreover, useful data can be mined from data stored on the blockchain.
How will the solution works
In general, EPatwari's current implementation is same as that of a private blockchain. For each ownership transfer, there will be a transaction node in blockchain having land, sellers, buyers, and eirs details. Inheritance and polymorphism will be used connect different types of nodes. Each node will be having a unique hash and Merkle Trees will be used to make records unalterable. All machines will be connected together to make application decentralized.
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
As of January 2019, there is not a single organization or start-up that has implemented blockchain-based solution for the storage of land records and land ownership verification. We cannot say the same for the future. The only competition is a series of copy-cat startups which may begin in future
