Abstract:
    ArmPlus is a wearable robotic arm, which supplements human capabilities by reducing load on human muscles, hence, a worthy combination of man and machine.
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
    Health & Safety Regulations suggest a healthy person not to lift more than 26kgs. However, researchers find that Pakistani Labourers lift upto 90kgs (globally 2nd). Consequently, a large sector of Pakistani labour retires in a state of lost capabilities violating Article-33F, Pakistan Factories Act.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
   Pakistan's industrial human workforce (globally 9th), industrialists & manufacturers seek a protective solution for the experienced working hands for workplaces' production efficiency, as well as recognition for worker safety. Industrial labour in Pakistan extends upto a giant figure of 11.6m.
How will the solution works
    ArmPlus augments human capabilities by adding exoskeleton around limbs. 3 DOF would be allowed at shoulder joint for lateral, anterior & rotary motion. 1 DOF would be allowed at elbow joint for lateral motion. Maximum weight lifting capacity of the protype would be 50kgs, weighing itself approx. 15kgs. Speed of the motion would range from 0-2m/s. String and cable systems would be employed for transmission of force, whereas for torque enhancement worm & wheel gear sets would be utilized.
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
    As global commercial product, exoskeleton is in phase of strengthening its marketplace, yet. Our real challenge, however in Pakistan is to create its marketplace. In comparison with other available options our design is more streamlined, allows more DOF & adjustable arm length & less expensive.
