Abstract:
    The goal is to make a cost effective All-Terrain Vehicle mounted seed sowing mechanism which can operate in fields with 3 modes of operation; Manual, Remote controlled and Autonomous modes.
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
    The unmet need is efficient farming. This is important as agriculture contributes about 21% GDP of Pakistan, uses 43% of the labor force while feeding approximately 75% population of Pakistan. Also, the total plough-able land in Pakistan is about 40%.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
   Farmers across the country will benefit. The conventional seeding operations require manual labor, resulting in uneven seed spacing and also consumes a lot of time.The main aim is to enhance the productivity of farms with minimum man power, as well as to increase the yield.
How will the solution works
    The seeder's parameters include seed spacing, row spacing and seed depth all of which can be varied, enabling it to be used for a wide variety of seeds. The seeds are to be stored in a tank and then isolated in a gear-like unit before being sent into the soil at specified distances. Also, the seeder can be detached and replaced by a reaper. Moreover, the autonomous mode implemented by sensors and controllers will allow the ATV to fulfill its purpose via path planning.
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
    We are competing with traditional manual methods of farming as well as large-scale harvesters.. The multi-purpose harvesters are very expensive and thus cannot be afforded by a majority of the population. The ATV will enable reaping and seeding at a much cheaper cost.
