Abstract:
    To avoid wastage of energy and emission of harmful gases, our desiccant based project has the potential to meet the AC and drinking water demand of hot and humid regions.
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
    Pakistan is a water scarce country and ranked 5th in top 12 AC potential countries. Evaporative coolers do not work very well in hot and humid environment. This create a need to buy expensive AC systems. This system is not only expensive but also results in Global Warming and Ozone Depletion.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
   1. In hot and humid climate like Karachi and Lahore where evaporative cooler does not work well. 2. In Greenhouse for controlling humidity and temperature ensuring healthier growth of plants. 3. As a off-grid system for water purification and air-conditioning in remote communities.
How will the solution works
    Hot and humid outdoor is allowed to pass through the desiccant wheel that extracts moisture from the air. At wheel outlet, the high temperature air is allowed to pass through cooler to reduce the temperature. In this way, both the humidity and temperature reach the human comfort level. We pass heated air through the desiccant to extract the high moisture and pass it to the dehumidifier to obtain drinkable water. We can cool the conditioned space and obtain fresh water from it as well.
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
    Currently, our competitors are conventional AC and water industry. Both are providing an expensive solution that is not environmental friendly. Our product is providing a cost effective and off-grid system to meet the AC as well as drinking water requirement simultaneously in a compact single unit.
