Idea Name: ECG Monitor
Slogan: Its all in the pulse
Startup Domain: Healthcare
Abstract:
Smart-phone ECG monitoring system with real time feature extraction and wireless transmission
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
1 in every 4 deaths in United States is due to heart diseases. Therefore, there is a need for continuous monitoring of the heart to ensure early treatment in case of any abnormality detection. Our device will make sure that all the abnormalities undergo early treatment.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
Everyone with a possibility of heart malfunctioning needs this device for continuous monitoring of his/her electrical activity of the heart. 1 in every 4 deaths is due to heart diseases, so this monitoring device will give benefit to almost everyone, with or without any heart disease.
How will the solution works
An analogue front end is used to capture ECG signals from the human body and is transmitted to a smart phone device using micro-controller ESP32. Feature extraction of the ECG signal and its transmission wirelessly over network to other cellular device is made at this stage. In short, the real time ECG features will be extracted and any abnormality will be communicated to a physician if any arises.
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
Our competitor is Holter Monitor that provides off-line ECG features classification. Our device has more potential in the market as it provide real time ECG feature extraction functionality.
