Idea Name: LiDAR SensorFusion

Abstract:
    The main problem pertains to mapping of surroundings and the distances associated with them. LiDAR is the best device used in this regard for better real-time applications.
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
    The goal for this problem is to successfully create a Convolutional Neural Network that fuses LiDAR Point Cloud data with high quality RGB images.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
   The benefit of this research will be a great enhancement in solving problems where LiDARs are mainly used. The common area is in the domain of Self-Driving cars. Other applications include Smart-Cities and for large scale modelling of buildings and cities etcetera.
How will the solution works
    Basically a dataset for the Point-Cloud data from LiDAR and a dataset of the related RGB Images fed into a Convolutional Neural Network will return the fused and annotated data to us.
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
    Since LiDAR data is associated with large objects like city models etcetera, it is not a very simple task to fuse the RGB image and the Point-Cloud together and a reliable solution is needed because of the nature of the issue being in real-time.
