Abstract:
    PCR device used is large, takes much time to amplify DNA. Also there is danger of DNA loss when it is collected from accident site.MIni PCR minimizes time and amplify DNA onsite and is cost effective
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
    When DNA is collected from site there is great danger of it's loss and it is a great issue. Our device helps to amplify DNA on site and also gives the result to 2 to 3 minutes as compared to conventional PCR which takes 2 hrs. PCR is much bigger and requires more power while mini PCR is very small
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
   Since it is an on field device. It will be most needed at the accident site by the army and first response medical team for the collection of DNA and amplify it. Furthermore it will be helpful in hospitals since a large time will be saved .It can also be used by the medical colleges to show the DNA
How will the solution works
    Basically DNA solution is inserted with syringe pump and it flows from 32 cycles etched on the PDMS plate. There are 3 processes( Denaturation, annealing, Extension) in these 32 cycles . In each phase temperature is different from the other. Temperature is varied with a heater that below PDMS . 1 ,2 or 3 heaters can be used. So from 1 strand DNA at inlet we have millions of strands at the outlet. Our device is of 41.98mm * 26.80 dimension.
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
    Our biggest competitor is PCR itself. SInce it is made by many companies like BIO- RAD, Agilent Tech, QIAGEN etc. Now since our device is extremely small as compared to the bigger PCR and less time consuming and cost effective so it beats the PCR in this regard
