Idea Name: Swarm Control

Abstract:
    Swarm robotics is a field of multi-robotics in which large number of robots are coordinated in a distributed way. It is based upon simple robots compared to the complexity of the task to achieve.
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
    Robots can be used in spying missions, as well as in disastrous situations where it is quite risky to send any human force in but at the same time inside view or in side details of the area are of keen importance.Research is going on in this field to study swarm behavior to program the human cells.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
   Different spying and military agencies operating worldwide can make use of these robots in there spying missions. With these robots at hand, these agencies can minimize human casualties, which is one of the core purpose of this project.
How will the solution works
    The heart of the project is to control the swarm which will be achieved by Communication, Control Algorithms and Simulation/Programming tools. Communication will be done by using IR sensors mounted on Robots.Formation Control(How to orient swarm in any specific direction) will be achieved through different control theories.To first devise and to check the algorithms, we are going to use VREP/ROS and Main programmer(included with robots) will be used for the programming of all robots.
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
    As it is a research oriented project so there are no as such competitors. We will try to develop a solution to control swarm which will reduce complexity and will help other researchers to extend their research using our algorithms and design.
