Idea Name: Superposition steering
Slogan: Determination, Dedication, and Discipline

Abstract:
    uperposition steering system is a type of steering mechanism that performs functions like variable steering ratio (steering ratio increases as the speed increases), yaw rate control, and lane keeping at high speeds. The objective of producing such system is to enhance the comfort to the driver and avoid chances of accident. The system consists of a double planetary gear system that has two inputs. One input is from the driver that is transferred through sun gear of first planetary set. The second input comes from a controller motor that engages with ring gear of second planetary set via worm gear to produce the superposition with the driver’s input. A harmonic drive or any compact torque reduction mechanism can connected between the controller motor and worm to enhance the torque if the system is implemented in a vehicle having manual or unpowered steering system, in order to enhance the torque. The controller motor continuously receives the inputs i.e. vehicle velocity, yaw rate, lateral acceleration, longitudinal acceleration and driver steering angle. Based on the inputs the motor performs the required superposition. The project is great application of fields like machine design and control systems.

    Well this steering system will provide variable steering ratio, yaw rate controls which will reduce accidents and lane keeping at high speeds.

    Well since mentioned above it provides variable steering ratio as compared to EPS system also it has safety features which is number one priority.
